Company History;
Bronyx was registered as a Close Corporation on the 22nd March 2005 and with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority as a Security Service Provider on the 8th June 2005.
The name Bronyx (pronounced “Br-on-nix”) originated from then Managing Member, Mr. Aidon R. Lippstreu’s, previous two registered German Shepherd Dogs, “Bronx Von Talhof” & “Onyx Von Goldveldt” which have both since passed.
Bronx was aptly named after the rough and tough New York borough of the same name (three qualities of the G.S.D. found here; courage, combativeness and toughness) and Onyx after the gemstone, as found in the Bible, of alternating black & white parallel bands (the G.S.D. black/ tan colour & beauty depicted here).
The combination of these two to form the name Bronyx has meant to illustrate the tough cultural, economical & environmental diversity within which we found ourselves each day in South Africa but to which we may combat and solve together.
The company now trades as Bronyx Security and the first order of business officially began on the 5th September 2005 with a one - man guarding site at the then Lippstreu Motor Centre.
Clients also include Cerebos Ltd, Big Daddy’s & Preston’s Liquor Stores, Danoher Trust, Port Elizabeth Multi Franchise & Isivivana Private Hospital.

Managing Trustee:
Mr. Aidon R. Lippstreu is 32 years old, married and an avid protection dog sport and recreational scuba diving enthusiast. He oversees all operations and is responsible for company policy, procedure, personnel training & product development as well.
Aidon is duly registered as a Security Officer by the P.S.I.R.A: Reg. # 1006021 and has qualified Grade “A”, Armed Response, C.I.T, Retail Security and in Special Events, Banking Security & lastly as a Level IV Dog Handler. He is also an Accredited “E, D, C & DH1 – IV” Instructor with this authority.
Aidon further qualified as an Instructor with the International Firearm Training Academy (I.T.A.) & may instruct to an Advanced level in Handguns, Shotguns and Rifles under the new Firearm Control Act No. 60 of 2000: Registration # I3823.
Following on from this Aidon gained accreditation with the Safety & Security Sector Education & Training Authority as an Assessor: Reg. # 19A12010505. He has also completed his Moderator & Facilitator courses.
Aidon has also long since been a Member & Registered German Shepherd Dog Breeder accredited by the German Shepherd Dog Federation of South Africa (G.S.D.F.S.A.): Registration # 3692. He is also qualified as a Schutzhund (Protection Dog) & Breed Survey Helper with the G.S.D.F.S.A.
An accredited instructor with the South African Association of Dog Obedience Instructors & listed in their database as a source for Tracking, Obedience & Protection Dog training, Aidon was also appointed as the Regional Tutor Helper for the G.S.D.F.S.A. but has since resigned from this position due to business commitments.
Aidon has most recently been awarded Member status of the South African Institute of Security (SAIS) and sits on their Board of Governors as the Eastern Province Representative.
Aidon is also a Basic Archery Instructor (BAI) and BAI Trainer accredited with NASP-SA (Member # 31483).
